My first Earthwatch Expedition was in 2012. I was fortunate enough to participate in that expedition with a co-worker from the Wang MS. That expedition was comprised of all teachers. The difference was none of us knew each other except for we two. In just hours, I felt I had known my new colleagues my whole life! We still communicate and have had several reunions.
This year's journey, is also made up of teachers with the added benefit of "meeting" them all via email beforehand.
They are:
A HS English teacher from Riverside, CA who plans to craft an expository unit on Climate Change.
From Orange Co, CA a history teacher who hopes to inspire his students to become more environmentally aware.
A SoCal teacher with 16 years teaching experience at the elementary level, who wants to become a role model for her urban students.
An aspiring environmental steward who is determined to inspire her elementary students in Tucson, AZ.
Also representing the East Coast, a MS SpEd. teacher from Washington, DC.
I am looking forward to seeing these teachers fulfill their goals which will change their lives and the lives of their students.
